Job Summary:
Our Client’s Environmental Technologies group is seeking an entry-level technician to support the testing of products across different disciplines (Energy and Chemistry). The candidate will work closely with engineers and analytical chemists to prepare products for testing. This work supports our Client’s 2030 Carbon neutral and Smarter Chemistry goals.
Description:
This entry-level technician position is offered in our Client’s Environmental Technologies group with their Hardware Engineering division. Their mission is to deliver the world’s leading programs on the elimination of hazardous substances, improved material and energy efficiency, as well as influencing design benefiting the environment. Our client believes that major improvements in environmental performance can be delivered through product design innovations.
The candidate will work closely with our Client’s Environmental Technologies team to prepare samples for testing against our Client’s internal specifications to support scientific investigations as part of the 2030 Carbon natural and Smarter chemistry initiative The preferred candidate must have a strong working knowledge of sample, preparation, close attention to detail, the ability to learn specific practical techniques and apply this knowledge to help solve technical problems. This role will also be responsible for maintaining the work area and lab equipment and supplies. The candidate will have good time management skills in order to work on multiple projects at the same time. The candidate will be assisting with the preparation and testing of products/materials. The candidate will also be creating and maintain Standard operating depending upon experience, create and validate SOPs.
Education:
AS/BS degree in Engineering or Science
Requirements:
- Some of the required tasks for this project are as follows (subject to change, depending on the needs of the project):
- Hands on experience with electronic products disassembly
- Hands on experience in functional verification specifically with electronics
- Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced, schedule driven environment.
- Experienced in sample preparation and extractions for chemical analysis is a plus.
- Must be able to follow procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
- Experience working with MS Excel for data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Needs to be able to work independently but able to take direction from multiple sources
- Basic chemistry, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience in creating and/or maintaining Standard Operating Procedures is a plus.
